World Spa & Wellness Awards 2026: Two Italian Spas Named Winners

October 11, 2026

Italy’s wellness scene is once again taking center stage on the international stage. From the alpine panoramas of the Dolomites to the shores of the Lake Garda, two Italian destinations have been honored at the World Spa & Wellness Awards 2026, one of the international events dedicated to the excellence of the spa and wellness sector.

The winners were announced during a ceremony held on Sunday, October 4 at The Brewery in London, which brought together professionals and entities from around the world. The recognitions consider several aspects of wellness hospitality, from guest experience to training, up to sustainability and innovation.

Two properties from the same Italian group stood out, yet set in landscapes that are completely different: Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti and Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda.

Italy’s Best Spa in Europe

Nestled among the mountains of Trentino-Alto Adige, Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti has claimed the title of Resort Spa of the Year – Western Europe & Scandinavia at the World Spa & Wellness Awards 2026, prevailing in a category dedicated to the best spas housed within Western European and Scandinavian resorts.

The property is located in Pinzolo, in the heart of the Dolomites and a short distance from Madonna di Campiglio, in a region highly appreciated by winter sports enthusiasts as well as by those seeking a nature-immersed vacation. The core of the experience is Lefay SPA Dolomiti, a vast wellness universe where the brand’s philosophy blends Western approaches and the principles of traditional Chinese medicine. Pools, saunas, relaxation areas and routes dedicated to psychophysical rebalancing thus transform a mountain stay into something that goes beyond the classic Alpine vacation.

The World’s Best Wellness Retreat

From the mountains the scenario changes completely. In Gargnano, on the Lombard shore of Lake Garda, lies Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda, winner of the Worldwide Health & Wellness Destination of the Year award. A recognition of global reach, bestowed upon the Italian property within the framework of the World Spa & Wellness Awards 2026.

The resort rises on the hills that overlook the lake and is surrounded by a park of about 11 hectares, with architecture designed to blend as much as possible into the landscape. Wide glass walls, natural materials and outdoor spaces opening to the exterior allow the Garda landscape to become an integral part of the stay experience. The heart of the property is the large spa area, which spans about 4,300 square meters and offers routes and treatments inspired by a holistic conception of well-being.
