The English countryside, with its lush greenery and bucolic atmosphere, had been the co-protagonist of the first season: even the locations of The Gentlemen 2 vie to captivate the viewer as much as the events told on screen. The second season of Guy Ritchie’s series, available on Netflix from September 3, 2026, is set, in fact, in one of the most iconic corners of the Italian “dolce vita”—between grand hotels, ancient lake-facing villas, abundant greenery, and remote islands where one can enjoy the luxury of solitude and silence.
What it’s about
Eddie Horniman (Theo James) is a former British Army officer who inherited a country estate from his father before learning that, together with his partner, he had transformed it into a cannabis empire. Initially reluctant, after discovering that he has a flair for shady dealings, Eddie decides to collaborate with Susie (Kaya Scodelario).
Now Bobby (Ray Winstone), the criminal figure the two must answer to, has decided to raise the stakes and expand his own business abroad as well. In Italy, specifically, where Eddie and Susie travel to meet the boss Marco Moretti, played by Sergio Castellitto, and his ambiguous frontman Cico Maldini, the character played by Michele Morrone. In the cast of the second season of “The Gentlemen” there is also Benedetta Porcaroli in the role of a young countess determined to steal Eddie’s heart.
Where the series was shot
The Italian locations of The Gentlemen are all found around Lake Maggiore: an area that resonates with the idea of luxury and high life that Guy Ritchie strives to portray in his series and which in recent years has become one of the top destinations for international film productions.
Verbania
As confirmed by the Film Commission Torino Piemonte, most of the filming took place in Verbania: located on the western shore of Lake Maggiore, the town offers lakeside strolls, splendid 19th-century villas, gardens where botanical species from different origins flourish, and—why not—day trips into the mountains (the Ticino Alps, which dominate the landscape).
The production of The Gentlemen 2 seems to have favored Verbania over other, more famous centers on Lake Maggiore mainly for logistical reasons, such as the possibility of finding luxury hotels, churches, historic villas, squares and central streets, all within steps of each other, with lake views.
In the Pallanza district there are most of the places where The Gentlemen 2 was filmed: Piazza Garibaldi and Via Vittorio Veneto, two spots frequented daily by locals, which the series has transformed into the center of the Italian town reached for business by the two protagonists.
Villa Rusconi-Clerici
The villa used for The Gentlemen 2 is Villa Rusconi-Clerici: an eighteenth-century residence owned by the eponymous family, today primarily used for ceremonies. The property stands out for its eclectic neobaroque style and for the gardens and splendid lake views (there is even a dock and a temporary jetty available for guests).
Grand Hotel Majestic
Some sequences of the new season of The Gentlemen were shot inside and around the Grand Hotel Majestic: opened in 1870 under the name Grand Hotel Pallanza, it is historically the symbol of the region’s elitist hospitality. Despite changes over the years, the structure has preserved its Belle Époque-inspired style.
Chiesa di San Leonardo
At the Grand Hotel Majestic are set the sequences of a wedding that—no spoilers—is among the most anticipated moments of the second season of the series by Guy Ritchie. The religious ceremony takes place in the Church of San Leonardo (better known to locals as the Collegiata di San Leonardo): on the outside, the parish is fairly austere, while the interior is richer, marked by distinctive pink-granite columns and culminating in a 17th-century altar.
Other locations for The Gentlemen 2 can also be found in Intra, a hamlet of Verbania, which today as in the past is frequented mainly by those aiming to reach the Lombard shores of Lake Maggiore. From here depart and arrive the ferries to Laveno, and the antique wrought-iron pier in the Liberty style continues to be an attraction for tourists and passersby.
Stresa
The town of Stresa, in its own right, also served as a set for the second season of The Gentlemen: the lakeside promenade with villas surrounded by gardens, fashionable bars, and luxury restaurants is easily recognizable in many scenes of the series.
Le Isole Borromee
As are the Borromean Islands, which appear in many scenes with the lake as a backdrop. These are three small islets near the shores of Lake Maggiore, owned by the Borromeo family, who over the centuries built summing residences and gardens enriched by plant varieties from around the world; today they remain among the main sights to see on these “pearls of the Lake.”
On Isola Bella, among the most curious attractions not to be missed are the mosaicked grottoes of the Baroque Palace. The Borromeos have long attracted philosophers, writers, and artists drawn to their uniqueness: from Montesquieu to Hemingway, up to the more recent English royals.
The English locations
A substantial portion of the story still unfolds in the United Kingdom, where the production of The Gentlemen 2 shot both exteriors and interiors. The UK locations for the second season remain largely unchanged from the first: primarily London, where Eddie runs his new drug business, but also the countryside and the hinterland.
St Salisbury Cathedral
Among the places where The Gentlemen 2 was shot in England, the Salisbury Cathedral stands out, in Wiltshire. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary and constructed between 1220 and 1258, it is considered one of the earliest examples of English Gothic and famous—and visited yearly by tens of thousands even by non-believers—for housing one of the best-preserved original copies of the Magna Carta.
Stoke Court
Another confirmed location for the second season of “The Gentlemen” is Stoke Court in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire: originally a cottage, it was transformed over the years by its owners into a prestigious country residence, today recognized as part of the area’s artistic and cultural heritage. Beyond the lavish interiors where several scenes with Theo James were filmed, the property is set within a park of over twenty acres.
