On July 15, 2026, a female-led action comedy arrived on Prime Video, with Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham keeping viewers glued to the screen with twists, adrenaline-pumping escapes, mysteries, and plenty of fun. The stars also come from the locations of Run or Die, a TV series created by showrunner Tessa Coates: the scenes were shot entirely in an unexpected European country, with the city and its surroundings becoming new destinations for set-jetting enthusiasts.
What it’s about
Debbie Claybourne and Judith Burton are two longtime friends, convinced they know everything about each other at least until Debbie discovers that Judith is not a forensic accountant as she has always claimed, but an international hitwoman. The revelation arrives just as a shady figure from the past returns to threaten Judith, and Debbie’s husband is drawn into a serious corruption case. The two friends decide to flee and traverse Europe: with law enforcement, professional killers, and dangerous criminals closing in, theirs is a race against time to uncover the truth.

Prague
Several key scenes were shot in the Old Town (Staré Město): it is in the ancient heart of Prague among medieval alleys, Baroque buildings, and Gothic monuments where Debbie and Judith begin their escape.
Among the shots you can easily spot Mariánské náměstí: one of the main squares of the Old Town, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, facing the Clementinum (home of the National Library), the New City Hall and the Prague City Council, as well as other administrative and political buildings.
Another Prague neighborhood where Run or Die was filmed is Malá Strana: perched along the Moldau River, it offers a unique view of the city and its bridges and is known for being frequented by artists, intellectuals, and activists, earning it a bohemian district reputation over time.
The Kampa Park, which appears in the series’ shots, is one of the district’s most characteristic spots: a green area overlooking the island of Kampa where one can read, jog, or sit and relax among ancient trees and some of Prague’s most original modern statues.
A curious aspect is that among the locations there are numerous addresses – hotels, restaurants, concert halls, clubs – popular with both tourists and locals. From the five-star Le Palais Art Hotel Prague, an art hotel in one of the city’s most exclusive neighborhoods, to the Belgian restaurant Bruxx, passing by the National Theatre and the Rudolfinum Concert Hall, and even one of the city’s most popular clubs for those who love discovering new music scenes, Klub Futurum: the series also portrays Prague as a lively, dynamic city (not by chance considered one of the happiest cities in the world).
The Surroundings of Prague
Karlovy Vary
In the capital’s surroundings, production shot in Karlovy Vary: this Bohemian spa town, a destination for many day trips departing from Prague, has been visited since the early 19th century by those who love thermal baths and spa facilities. The unmistakable colonnades line the main pedestrian streets; for narrative reasons, however, the series was filmed on Nová Louka, a newer street crossed by vehicles.
In Run or Die the iconic Grandhotel Pupp features prominently: among the town’s oldest hotels, it has hosted figures such as Wolfgang Goethe and Johann Sebastian Bach before becoming on screen the iconic Hotel Splendide from Casino Royale.
The Bohemian Castles
Among the other locations used for Run or Die is Ploskovice Chateau: a Baroque castle set in the greenery of a large park, built as a summertime residence of Anna Maria Francesca, Grand Duchess of Tuscany, and today part of the vast Bohemian castles heritage.
Also among the locations is the more modest Chateau Slapy, a historic residence of a noble family that in the early 20th century erected a building with Baroque and classical elements on the ruins of an old cloister, also used as a set for Prime Video’s new series with Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham.
