Paris Stopover is a new offering signed by Air France and Extime Travel, the airport retail and hospitality brand of the ADP Group dedicated to travel experiences, which allows travelers to transform a stopover at the Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport into a true stay to explore the French capital and the surrounding region.
The initiative was born to respond to the new needs of international tourism: more and more travelers want to optimize their time during transit and add authentic experiences to their itinerary. It is no accident that about 50% of Air France passengers arriving at Paris-Charles de Gaulle are in transit to another destination. Paris Stopover thus allows you to experience the city even during a break between two flights, offering a comprehensive and customizable service.
How Paris Stopover Works
So, how does it work? Air France customers can choose Paris Stopover directly at the time of booking the flight, selecting the option to extend the layover in Paris, whether on the outbound or return journey. Paris Stopover is accessible to all Air France customers with a connection, regardless of travel class, and the service can be booked through Extime Travel up to 48 hours before departure, subject to availability. The offer is available to passengers who have purchased a ticket with a Stopover option on the Air France site and requires a minimum connection time of 27 hours.
After booking the flight, travelers can access the packages crafted by Extime Travel and build a personalized experience according to the length of the layover, with stays ranging from one to four nights. The offer includes several solutions that blend organized transfers, attractions, accommodations in carefully selected four- or five-star hotels, and customizable activities and tours.
Among the initial options available is the “Paris Must-See” package, designed for those visiting the French capital for the first time and eager to discover some of its most iconic landmarks, from the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre Museum. For travelers with families, the Disneyland® Paris package offers a magical interlude just outside the city.
One important development, especially in light of a study published by the Chaire Pégase in April 2026, showing that as much as 81% of passengers with a Paris layover are interested in the possibility of leaving the airport during the stopover to explore Paris. This finding also underscores the growing interest in the stopover travel phenomenon—the opportunity to insert an intermediate stop into an international journey.
