The prosecutor Go Eun-sae (Ha Young) is investigating a criminal clan led by a powerful boss when she becomes involved in a mysterious incident that causes her to lose her memory. Some time later she meets Jang Tae-ha (Jung Hae-in): a former boxing champion who now coaches a small local team.
The man, who recognizes in the woman his first teenage love, takes advantage of her amnesia and pretends to be her current boyfriend in order to protect her: Jang himself has a past in a criminal outfit. The two end up living together and falling in love again.
Where the series was filmed
Dangjin
The production itself confirmed that the locations for Our Sticky Love are all in Dangjin: a city in South Korea facing the Asan Bay that has long played a key role in the commercial exchanges touching the Yellow Sea. About 90 minutes from Seoul, Dangjin is an excellent destination for a day trip to discover traditional Korean culture.
Here you can find attractions such as the Ami Art Museum where, besides the permanent collection and mostly contemporary art exhibitions, one can admire the traditional architecture of the area. The museum is housed in a former school, in which the wooden floors and the old windows are still visible. The setting seems perfect for a love story rooted in childhood and carrying a bucolic aura, and indeed the museum is one of the places where the Korean series Our Sticky Love was filmed, particularly for the scenes set in the origin village of Go Eun-sae and Jang Tae-ha.
Often the two main stars of the new Netflix k-drama are seen strolling outdoors, immersed in a tranquil and serene atmosphere. These kinds of scenes were mainly shot along the Sunseong Cherry Blossom Trail: a road about three kilometers long, walkable on foot or by bike and lined with cherry and peach trees that in spring grant passersby a spectacular bloom. It is the cherry blossom bloom itself that has become, in these years of growing interest in sakura gardens, one of the main tourist attractions in Dangjin.
Another location of Our Sticky Love noted by the production is Wolji Pond: this artificial basin was built in the late Joseon era to rear birds and other rare animals and to foster plants of various species. Even today, depending on the season, visitors can witness different spectacles, such as the cherry blossoms in spring and, in summer, the lotus flowers that thrive in the pond. The latter is surrounded by pavilions and other structures once used for official ceremonies.
