MSC World Cruise 2029: Around the World in 119 Nights to Dream Destinations

October 21, 2026

An extraordinary journey across five continents, through iconic metropolises, distant islands, and spectacular natural landscapes. MSC Cruises opens bookings for the World Cruise 2029, a 119-night itinerary aboard MSC Magnifica, designed for those who dream of exploring the world without sacrificing the comfort of a cruise ship. The departure is scheduled for early January 2029, with several embarkation options across Europe.

The itinerary will traverse 21 countries and reach 44 destinations. To make the experience even more engaging there will be overnight stays and the 15 onshore excursions included.

From South America to the Pacific

The World Cruise 2029 will depart from the Mediterranean, with embarkation at Civitavecchia/Rome on 4 January, at Genoa on the 5, and the possibility to board also in Marseille on 6 and in Barcelona on 7 January. After the initial European legs, the ship will reach Morocco and Cape Verde, before crossing the Atlantic and arriving in South America.

Among the most evocative stops will be Rio de Janeiro, where the overnight stay will allow for a more relaxed view of the beaches, Sugarloaf Mountain, and the famous Christ the Redeemer. The journey will continue toward Buenos Aires and the southern regions of the continent, up to Ushuaia, in Argentina, the gateway to Tierra del Fuego. Here travelers will be able to explore wild landscapes, glaciers and fjords, crossing the Beagle Channel and Patagonia, before reaching Valparaíso.

The navigation will continue in the Pacific, touching the remote Pitcairn Islands, French Polynesia, the American Samoa and the Fiji, where a stop at Lautoka is planned. In New Zealand stand out Milford Sound, one of the country’s most spectacular fjords, together with Fiordland National Park and a stop in Timaru. The itinerary will then reach Tasmania and Australia, with an overnight stay in Sydney, where one of the most anticipated parts of the entire itinerary will take shape.

Australia, Indonesia and Asia

The circumnavigation of Australia will be one of the defining moments of the cruise. Sydney and Melbourne offer a mix of architecture, culture and urban life, while Kangaroo Island lends a closer look at Australia’s natural environments. The journey will continue to Adelaide, with its renowned wine regions, and reaches Fremantle and Perth, where an overnight stay is planned to explore Western Australia more calmly. Broome and Darwin will complete the voyage along the Australian coasts, showcasing landscapes very different from one another.

From Australia the ship will head to Indonesia, with calls at Bali, Lombok and Java. Here temples, traditions and tropical landscapes tell the archipelago’s cultural diversity. Among the experiences possible is a visit to Borobudur, the ancient Buddhist temple complex dating back about 1,200 years. The voyage will then proceed to Singapore, Thailand and Sri Lanka, before crossing the Indian Ocean and reaching Jordan and Egypt, returning finally to the Mediterranean.
