The final season of what is undoubtedly the most successful French series of recent years could not fail to be a visual homage to France, to its history, and to its immense artistic and architectural heritage. Among the locations of Lupin 4, there are thus Rococo-style sumptuous rooms, refined aristocratic palaces, elegant boulevards in the city center, and monuments that symbolize the nation: let us discover together where the eight new episodes of the series were shot, available on Netflix from October 23 2026.
What Lupin is about
At the end of the previous season, Assane Diop, the modern gentleman thief inspired by Maurice Leblanc’s character and played by Omar Sy, had decided to surrender to the authorities to finally stop hiding and hope one day to return to a normal life with his family, possibly in Senegal. At the start of the new season, a statement announces a series of robberies that will occur simultaneously in several French museums: it is signed “Lupin.”
Despite heightened security measures, the heists happen exactly as foreseen. And above all, although Assane is still in prison, all the clues seem to point to him: there is even a security camera that captures him face-on while, during one of the robberies, a police officer is gravely injured. The real Assane is thus left with no choice but to orchestrate an escape to prove that there is only one Lupin: him.
Where the series was filmed
Filming of Lupin 4 took place entirely in Paris, starting from May 2025. Even in the trailer released by Netflix with which Omar Sy/Assane Diop announced his return, there were intriguing previews of the locations where the new season was shot.
Paris
From the promotional material it was evident, for example, that there would be scenes shot near and on the Eiffel Tower: the emblematic monument of France, frequented daily by tens of thousands of tourists and more.
One of the key sequences of the fourth season of Lupin was shot near the Panthéon: it is the scene in which Assane rides on horseback along Rue Soufflot, the elegant avenue that connects the Luxembourg Gardens to the mausoleum housing – among others – the tombs of Voltaire, Rousseau, Victor Hugo and Marie Curie.
Also easily recognizable on screen is the Hôtel de Soubise: a refined 19th-century aristocratic building in the Marais district. Here the production of the new season of Lupin (Gaumont, for the first time with Carrousel Studios) shot mainly in the Princess’s Salon: an oval chamber, richly frescoed and decorated on the walls with mirrors and other Rococo-style elements.
Other Lupin 4 locations are found between the 1st and the 16th arrondissements, in what was once more than today the financial and governmental heart of the city. Some online sources point to Rue Beethoven, Rue des Petits-Frères, Rue La Vrillière, Rue Catinat, Rue Croix des Petits-Champs, Rue du Colonel Driant, Rue de Valois among the exact spots where the Netflix series with Omar Sy, inspired by Maurice Leblanc’s classic, was filmed.
In some shots, the Palais Royal and the Banque de France can also be recognized.
