European Christmas Markets: Wizz Air Flights from €19.99

October 20, 2026

Christmas is approaching, and for those who dream of spending a few days among markets, festive lights and fairy-tale atmospheres, it is already time to plan a European getaway. The opportunity is offered by Wizz Air, which promotes trips to Christmas markets with fares starting from 19.99 euros. The promotion is valid for bookings made by December 31, 2026, for travel from October 26, 2026 to March 17, 2027.

From the Polish cities, where Christmas is a tradition particularly felt, to the elegant squares of the Central Europe, there are plenty of destinations to discover. We have selected three connections from Italy to experience the magic of Advent, among artisan stalls, culinary specialties and spectacular decorations.

From Milan Malpensa to Gdańsk

Among the most surprising destinations for a Christmas trip is Gdańsk, in Poland, a city perched on the Baltic Sea that during Advent turns into a fairy-tale setting. To reach it, Wizz Air offers direct links from Milan Malpensa, with fares listed starting from 34.98 euros for the flight.

The reason to visit is mainly its Christmas market, which in 2024 captured the top spot in the European Best Destinations ranking, thanks to the votes of thousands of travelers. A recognition that well tells the charm of this event, between colorful stalls, light installations and attractions dedicated also to the little ones.

The market returns from November 20 to December 23, 2026, enlivening several areas of the center, starting from Targ Węglowy. The entrance to the market is free and the opening hours are from 12:00 to 20:00 from Sunday to Thursday and until 21:00 on Friday and Saturday.

From Venice to Budapest

If there is a city capable of turning Christmas into a spectacle of lights, that is Budapest. The Hungarian capital is one of the most enchanting destinations to visit in winter, thanks to its monumental buildings, the historic baths and the markets that animate the central squares. The city is also reachable from Venice Marco Polo, with direct Wizz Air Malta flights of about one hour and twenty minutes.

The protagonist of the festivities is the Advent Bazilika, the market set up in front of the Basilica of Saint Stephen, repeatedly awarded among the best in Europe. The 2026 edition takes place from November 13 to January 1, 2027, with almost one hundred artisanal exhibitors, a large Christmas tree and evocative light projections projected onto the basilica façade.

Among the experiences not to be missed is the tasting of kürtőskalács, the characteristic Hungarian spit cake coated with sugar, perfect to enjoy while strolling among the stalls. Every afternoon, from 17:30, the façade of the basilica becomes also the protagonist of spectacular light projections.

From Rome to Warsaw

Another destination to consider for the holidays is Warsaw, where Christmas offers a particularly evocative atmosphere. The Polish capital is a city that surprises with its reconstructed Old Town, colorful palaces and grand light installations that accompany visitors during Advent. From Rome Fiumicino there are direct Wizz Air connections to Warsaw also in December, a possibility to plan a short stay between markets and Polish traditions.

The heart of Christmas magic lies in the Old Town, between Castle Square and the Barbican, where traditional stalls offer handicrafts, decorations and culinary specialties. During the holidays, moreover, the famous Royal Route dresses in lights, turning a walk through the center into a particularly scenic experience.

Also not to miss is the Jarmark Warszawski, the large market set up near the Palace of Culture and Science, scheduled from November 20, 2026 to January 6, 2027. Here the Christmas atmosphere meets that of a grand European capital, with attractions, shows and stalls where you can taste pierogi, spiced pastries and hot drinks.
