The Autumn in Italy smells of roasted chestnuts, grape must, and tasty forest products. From north to south, the Chestnut Festivals 2026 bring to villages and towns one of the season’s most beloved gastronomic traditions, with tastings, markets, music and initiatives dedicated to typical products.

National Chestnut Fair, Cuneo (CN)

In Cuneo, autumn ushers in one of the most important events devoted to chestnuts. The 27th National Chestnut Fair 2026 is scheduled from October 16 to 18 in the historic center of the city. The event brings together producers and visitors around the region’s excellences, with tastings, show cooking, typical products and chestnut-based specialties. Admission to the fair is free.

Chestnut Festival, Combai (TV)

In Veneto, the Combai hamlet of the municipality of Miane in the province of Treviso celebrates its chestnut with a festival that spans several weeks of autumn. The 2026 edition is planned from October 9 to November 1.

In addition to tastings of first courses, jams, chestnut cakes, roasted chestnut cones and craft beer made from chestnut, the festival offers the chance to discover the small village in the Treviso province and the Prosecco hills, with initiatives tied to tradition and walks through the territory.

Good Chestnut Market Show, Marradi (FI)

Among the better-known autumn events in Tuscany is the Good Chestnut Market Show in Marradi, in the upper Mugello. The 2026 edition of the Chestnut Festival is scheduled on the Sundays 4, 11, 18 and 25 October 2026. The chestnut will be the star of tastings and of the gastronomic stalls in the historic center.

Chestnut IGP Festival, Castel del Rio (BO)

On the Bologna Apennines, Castel del Rio dedicates four Sundays to its prized Marrone IGP: 11, 18, and 25 October and 1 November 2026. The festival, now in its 70th edition, is an opportunity to taste the valley’s emblematic product – lunch-time gastronomic stalls where you can savor capletàz di marroni, chestnut tagliatelle and many other dishes prepared with care by skilled hands – and to discover a green, verdant territory where the tradition of chestnut cultivation is deeply linked to local history.

Chestnut Festival, Soriano nel Cimino (VT)

In Lazio, Soriano nel Cimino dedicates three weekends to the chestnut. The 59th edition of the Chestnut Festival will take place from October 2 to 18, 2026 and will transform the village of the Viterbo area into a medieval setting, with the four historic districts taking the leading roles.

Alongside chestnut-based gastronomic specialties, the program includes reenactments, performances, exhibitions, concerts, markets, parades, charity dinners and initiatives tied to local history.

Montella Chestnut Festival IGP, Montella (AV)

In Campania, Montella celebrates one of Italy’s most renowned chestnuts, protected by the IGP label. The event, in its 42nd edition, offers on the dates 1, 2, 6, 7 and 8 November 2026 tastings and specialties of the Irpinia tradition, together with concerts, performances, exhibitions and cultural happenings.
