The weekend that bids farewell to October and welcomes November is rich with gustatory events. Although November 1st isn’t a long weekend this year, there will still be plenty to enjoy among traditional gastronomic specialties of the territories, events within events – such as those that fall under Frantoi Aperti in Umbria or the International White Truffle Fair of Alba in Piedmont – and opportunities to discover villages and places to visit.
We have selected the tastiest fairs of the weekend of October 31 – November 1, 2026; here are our recommendations.
Golosaria in Milano
From Saturday 31 October to Monday 2 November 2026, Golosaria returns to Fiera Milano Rho, the Italian quality artisanal enogastronomy fair. The event reaches its XXI edition with an important logistical novelty: the event will move to Hall 8 of the fair. The guiding thread of this year is captured in the theme: “The Taste of Creating Tomorrow.” A large number of youths, both in the food sector and in the wine space, will make their debuts. Visitors will be guided to discover producers from the historical macro-areas (Agora, Food, Wine and Street Kitchens), but they will also find special focuses dedicated to families, agri-food startups, and wine tourism in its various facets. The program features over 50 events including awards, show cooking and masterclasses dedicated to wine. The Saturday opening will welcome the three regions which, together with Lombardy, chose Golosaria to showcase their excellence: Calabria, Liguria and Sicily.
Autumn in Orvinio (RI)
Cicerchia with beans, skewers, chicory and roasted chestnuts: in Orvinio, autumn is savored at the table. Sunday 1 November 2026, during the All Saints’ weekend, the village in the province of Rieti hosts the eighth edition of Autumn in Orvinio, with a day dedicated to local cuisine, crafts and family-friendly activities. From noon, the menu features cicerchie (pulses), egg pasta with beans, together with arrosticini, chicory, water or wine. Roasted chestnuts will also be available. The offering recalls a peasant-traditional cuisine, in which pasta, legumes and vegetables are the protagonists of simple and hearty dishes. Among the territory’s emblematic products stands Sabina DOP extra virgin olive oil, which accompanies bruschetta, soups and side dishes. Hand-made pastas, legume soups and seasonal vegetables tell a culinary culture tied to the land and family recipes. The backdrop to the event will be Orvinio’s historic center, set in the landscape of the Monti Lucretili Regional Natural Park and dominated by the castle. Between alleys and glimpses of the surrounding territory, the day will offer several occasions to get to know the village.

The festival will begin on Friday 30 October with a day mainly for schools. The weekend will then come alive on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November, when the streets and squares of the historic center will become the event’s beating heart. Piazza Matteotti, the Covered Market and via Vittorio Veneto will host the Renaissance Shops and the Market Exhibit, offering the opportunity to purchase pure saffron and typical products directly from producers.

The star is naturally Taragna polenta, prepared with cornmeal and buckwheat flour, butter and cheese. The name derives from tarél, the traditional wooden staff used to stir the polenta in the cauldron. An ancient gesture that still tells the simplicity and authenticity of Bergamasque cuisine. Among the proposed dishes there will be mushroom stew and braised meat. To complete the gastronomic offering, also “The Orobie Platter,” a selection of cheeses from the Bergamasque valleys, designed to bring some of the region’s excellences to the table.
