As summer draws to a close, Italy enters its most delicious season: the grape harvest, village fêtes, and the first autumn dishes featuring mushrooms and chestnuts.

A suggestive way to discover it is to follow the Carignano Trails, an itinerary that crosses areas dedicated to producing this full-bodied and enveloping red, between family-run wineries, Phoenician-Punic archaeological sites and beaches like Porto Pino. Autumn is the ideal period because it is harvest time, when the vineyards are in full swing and the region lives its most authentic moment.
