The Amerigo Vespucci in Ravenna, dates and info
Get your smartphones ready, because this is one of those occasions that deserves at least a photo. From October 14 to 18, the Amerigo Vespucci will stop at Marina di Ravenna, after having concluded the World Tour – North America Campaign 2026 in Trieste. The historic ship of the Italian Navy arrives to pay homage to Ravenna, the Italian Capital of the Sea 2026, a distinction that this year has highlighted the relationship between the city and its maritime territory.
The arrival was announced in July by Mayor Alessandro Barattoni, following a meeting in New York with Commander Nicasio Falica, during the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of American independence. The vessel, nicknamed the most beautiful ship in the world, is set to become one of the stars of Ravenna’s autumn. Near the dock you’ll also find the Ravenna Village, featuring stalls, local realities and cultural institutions involved in the path that led to the designation as Capital of the Sea.
Given the expected attendance, it’s advised to use the free shuttles available at the parking areas of Via del Marchesato, Piazzale della Marina and Piazzale Adriatico, which will operate from 14 to 17 October, from 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
The events on the program
