All Filming Locations in the Italian Remake of This Is Us

September 9, 2026

The summer schedule brings back in Rai 2’s prime time the Italian remake of This Is Us, led by Lino Guanciale. Let’s explore the locations of Noi: the places where the series was filmed alternate to closely follow the Peirò family’s fortunes, tracing across Italy a special kind of family geography.

What is it about

Turin, 1984: it is Pietro’s birthday when his wife, Rebecca (Aurora Ruffino), pregnant with three triplets, goes into labor. At the hospital the delivery proves particularly challenging, to such an extent that one of the three babies dies. Pietro, who had promised himself and Rebecca that he would come home with three children, makes an unexpected decision: to adopt a newborn of color who, in those very days, had been abandoned in front of the firefighters’ station.

The Italian adaptation of This Is Us thereafter follows the adventures of the Peirò family, alternately joyful and carefree, then sad and painful. The narrative shifts through different timelines, using flashbacks and flash-forwards to recount the past and present of the protagonists, from Pietro and Rebecca’s youth to the early 2000s.

Where the series was filmed

The main locations for Noi are in Turin, where the Peirò family resides. The production of the series (Cattleya and Rai Fiction) also shot in the Turin hinterland and in cities such as Milan, Rome and Naples.

Turin

On the screen, the Piedmont capital reveals emblematic places capable of telling both the city’s Savoyard identity and how it changed, especially between the 1970s and 1980s, when Turin became the driving engine of the Italian economy and drew many families from the South, like Pietro’s family.

Piazza Vittorio, the largest square in Turin with its iconic view of the Mole, Piazza Statuto, and the equally iconic porticoes of Piazza Carlo Felice are among the places where Noi was filmed in Turin.

Among Turin’s locations in the series are also the Murazzi: the ancient boat docks on the western bank of the Po, today a place where locals like to stroll and where the younger generation enjoys the nightlife.

The Museo Nazionale del Cinema also served as a location for some scenes: housed inside the Mole Antonelliana, it is a space that preserves artifacts and traces of the great history of Italian cinema.

San Sicario

Another Noi location is San Sicario, a fraction of the municipality of Cesana Torinese: here lies the mountain cabin of the Peirò family, abandoned for a long time and then rediscovered and renovated by the children. The area is famous—and well frequented—for its slopes and the ski lifts rising above 1,700 meters on Monte Fraiteve.

Even for those not deeply familiar with winter sports, Cesana Torinese offers year-round appeal: trekking and green walks, charming villages, and opportunities to discover mountain life and its specialties.

Other locations for Noi

As mentioned, among the cities where the Italian remake of This Is Us was filmed are also Rome, Milan and Naples. In Rome, on a terrace with a view of the Colosseum, one of the very first scenes of Noi features two of the children, Caterina (Claudia Marsicano) and Claudio (Dario Aita).

The same Claudio later moves to Milan at a certain point in the series, to give a new twist to his acting career. From the Lombard capital, represented on screen by several iconic spots in the heart of the city, the search for Daniele’s biological parents will also begin. Naples, with its classic views of the Gulf and Vesuvius, is the city where Domenico (Timothy Martin), the father—found again—of Daniele, lives.
