Espresso Natale 2026: Rome to Arezzo Train Tickets, Info & Prices

September 22, 2026

No more traffic, parking hunts, or highway queue stress: for several years now, Christmas is easily reached by train.

Even in 2026, Espresso Natale returns, starting from Rome Termini and taking you to Arezzo, where the arrival of Advent lights up the entire historic center, turning it into a fairy-tale setting. The City of Christmas, now in its eleventh edition, is one of the most beloved destinations this season precisely thanks to the atmosphere guaranteed by a large, widely shared event that combines traditional markets, light shows, and attractions for all ages.

Aboard, travel is relaxed, with the staff accompanying passengers along the entire route and a dining car where you can enjoy a snack or something hot to drink.

Espresso Natale from Rome to Arezzo

The itinerary links Rome Termini with Arezzo, round trip, via a direct connection that cuts through the lands of Tuscia and the ancient Etruria. A journey that already becomes part of the experience, with hills and villages rolling by the window. The departure from Rome is scheduled in the morning, between 8:00 and 8:30, while the return takes place in the evening, between 20:45 and 21:30.

From Arezzo station, just a few steps separate you from the pulsating heart of the celebrations. From November 14, 2026 to January 6, 2027, in Piazza Grande a broad Tyrolean-style village takes shape, with wooden chalets hosting artisans and exhibitors from the Alpine region, from Austria and Germany, among decorations, typical flavors and products to discover while strolling.

Here you can also visit Brick House Art, that is, three floors where artworks will be exhibited and workshops that use a total of 2 million bricks. A unique route where nationally renowned artists will showcase their creations.

Not far away, inside the walls of the Medice Fortress, one of the city’s most panoramic points, lies the home of the absolute star of the holidays. Here a village of over 10,000 square meters comes to life with spectacular choreographies, light plays and various Christmas attractions.

There will be a skating rink, the arts market where you can buy unique, handmade gifts, and the Arezzo Christmas Bus Tour where, guided by an audio guide, you can discover the city’s secrets.

Dates, info and prices

Espresso Natale will be available for five Sunday dates: November 29, December 6, 13, 20, and 27 December. Bookings opened on September 9; on the official site you will also find a dedicated page for each date.

Regarding fares, adults (14 years and up) pay 79 euros, while children (6-14 years not yet completed) pay 49 euros. The youngest (0-6 years not yet completed) can travel for free without a reserved seat.

If you ride the train, in addition to the markets, we recommend exploring the city. Arezzo is also art and medieval history, from Cimabue’s Crucifix kept in the Basilica of San Domenico to the Legend of the True Cross by Piero della Francesca, located at the Basilica of San Francesco, one of the Renaissance painting cycles most famous and widely known worldwide.
