Across Monza, the week opens the hottest period of the year, Italian Motor Week 2026, the week of the Grand Prix d’Italia, which takes place on Sunday, September 6, 2026, but in which the historic Autodromo Nazionale, one of the most famous Formula One circuits ever, set in a centuries-old park, is the star also in the days leading up to it.
Some 400,000 spectators are anticipated for the weekend alone, in a stretch of the sporting season that is especially heated, with the Italian rider Kimi Antonelli leading the championship and a revived Ferrari, ready to go all out in front of the home crowd.
The Monza Grand Prix is an event that involves not only the Lombardy town, but also the nearby capital Milan and some neighboring municipalities.
Here are the events outside Monza not to be missed starting from September 2, 2026.
The Events in Milan
The week’s events surrounding the Monza GP have already kicked off in Milan in exceptional locations, from the Royal Palace to the Montenapoleone District.
Monday, August 31
At the Milan Automobile Club headquarters, 43 Corso Venezia, the 1999 Ferrari F399 driven by Michael Schumacher is on public display, the single-seater that brought Scuderia Ferrari the Constructors’ World Championship after a 16-year wait. Admission is free, from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through September 8.
Wednesday, September 2
At the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum, in Via Gesù, from September 2 to 6, three Formula 1 cars will be exhibited under one roof: an Audi R26 F1, the first Formula 1 car built by Audi; a Mercedes W06 Hybrid F1, built by Mercedes to compete in the 2015 Formula One World Championship; and a Ferrari 126 C F1, the Scuderia Ferrari car that raced in the 1981 Formula One season, designed by Mauro Forghieri. They can be visited from 10:00 to 23:00.
Also starting on the 2nd, at the Santo Spirito Space in Via Santo Spirito 7, you’ll be able to admire the legendary Auto Union Lucca, a record-breaking car from the 1930s (based on the Type B) with which Auto Union reached 327 km/h in February 1935 on the Florence-Mare highway near Lucca.
But the most important appointment is at 5:45 p.m. at Palazzo Reale, beneath the Duomo’s spires, with the two Ferrari drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, who will challenge one another in the Drive Test “Drive to Monza.” The drivers will pass through Piazzetta Reale for a special greeting to the city and its fans, ready to receive the crowd’s embrace. The event will be broadcast live on Sky Sport F1 and streamed on Skysport.it and YouTube.
Thursday, September 3
At Larusmiani in Via Pietro Verri 10, the exhibition begins and runs until September 21, 2026 of The Automotive Gallery on the Auto Union Type D, a competition car designed and built by the German manufacturer Auto Union between 1938 and 1939.
Meanwhile, at in Via Montenapoleone 18, an Audi Nuvolari will be on display, the plug-in hybrid supercar—the most powerful and fastest Audi has ever produced—produced in a limited edition of only 499 units.
The Events in Monza and Surroundings
From September 3 to 6, 2026, Monza’s town center lights up with Fuori Concorso Monza 2026, an event within the event that includes exhibitions, street food, music and shows in all the squares. Specifically:
Thursday, September 3
While awaiting the Monza FuoriGP 2026 Opening Ceremony and the opening of Monza FuoriGP with the Mayor Paolo Pilotto, Councillors and main sponsors in the central Piazza Trento e Trieste – which will be the heart of all off-track events – at 6:30 p.m., and from 6 p.m. onward all weekend, you can visit the historic vehicle exhibition “100 Years of Races and Style by Scuderia Sant Ambroeus and Bruce Garage” exploring the history of motor racing in the 20th century; food & beverage stands will also open and, starting at 9 p.m., Gip Sound by Red Bull begins.
In Piazza Roma, at 6 p.m. the stands open with a Ferrari Formula 1 display, musical entertainment with Radio 105 and for children a Lego bricks activity area, plus the lounge & entertainment area.
Piazza Duomo in Monza will be the inclusive heart of Monza FuoriGP: the square dedicated to the MonzAut groups, the network of associations and foundations in the area that work with autism, supported by the Municipality of Monza. At the center of the square, Formula Aut, the project of the Facciavista Association and Fondazione Bluemers ETS, uniting art, autism and speed: at 7 p.m. a 1:1 scale Formula 1 car built by the Facciavista association’s students will be unveiled, viewable during all opening hours. Surrounding it are the associations’ gazebos, a photo area, workshops and activities for both adults and children.
The Boschetti Reali constitute the Monza FuoriGP youth village: a space devoted to gastronomy and street food, with food and drink stalls and a DJ set accompanying each day of the event, from morning until late in the evening.
Another event location is Piazza Cambiaghi, where from 6 p.m. you can visit the motor expo and enjoy an immersive experience by VELO McLaren, have an aperitif in the Lombarda Motori and Aperol Spritz lounges and, from 9 p.m., listen to the music of Radio Kiss Kiss.
Also in Piazza Carrobiolo, in the heart of Monza’s historic center, a few steps from Piazza Roma and the Arengario, there will be musical performances and street food. Events also take place in Piazza Centemero Paleari with automotive displays by Renord, the simulator by Unipol Move and a food & beverage corner. In Piazza San Pietro Martire there will be an exhibition by Bona Subaru; in Piazza San Paolo automotive displays and an experience area with industrial and commercial vehicles next to a Formula Monza car; in Via Arosio (in front of Stazione FS), a Formula 1 corner by Red Bull with a food & beverage area; in Piazza Carducci you can enjoy the Lamborghini simulator and RPS Racing, with the Moto Stunt Show (from 9 p.m.) and the best of craft beer from a BrewPub, while the Passerella dei Mercati hosts Gip Sound by Red Bull and food and drinks and Largo Mazzini hosts a Hugo Boss experience along with good food and aperitifs.
Friday, September 4
In addition to all the events opened the previous day, in Piazza Trento e Trieste, from 4 p.m. the Bruce Garage Talk Show begins, where test driver and YouTuber Enrico Di Mauro brings on stage guests from the world of historic cars and Formula 1 on a daily basis, followed by the Motor Bikes Parade award ceremony. At 8:30 p.m. the 1966 film “Grand Prix,” recounting Monza yesterday and today 60 years after the film, will be screened, while in Via Vittorio Emanuele, Via Italia and Via Carlo Alberto the Motor Bikes Parade takes place.
Saturday, September 5
At 10 a.m., from Piazza Trento e Trieste, the Charity Walk for the Maria Letizia Verga Foundation begins through the streets of Monza’s historic center, while for children the Brianza Culture Cars track opens. At 6 p.m., the award ceremony for the “Classic Cars Parade — Golden Gears” takes place, and at 7 p.m. starts the inclusion race “Sport for All,” in collaboration with Panathlon Club MB, featuring Paralympic athletes. At 8:30 p.m., the initiative “The Legacy of Alex Zanardi” is presented, scheduled for October 27 in Monza.
At the Boschetti Reali, activities for children continue throughout the day at the Bluemers Village, from scientific workshops and volcanic eruption demonstrations to face painting, bouncy castles, play areas and a magic show with soap bubbles.
Sunday, September 6
Across all squares involved in FuoriGP, events are open from 10 a.m. In Piazza Trento e Trieste, at noon, the Supercars Parade – Apex Kings takes place in anticipation of the live broadcast of the Monza Grand Prix on the LedWall in the square starting at 3 p.m. Afterward, many moments of entertainment follow, including talks and screenings.
In Lesmo, starting Thursday, September 3, the Monza Kart Arena becomes the pulsating heart of the festival with the show “Le Ferrarine,” followed at 9 p.m. by the dazzling Silent Disco – Ferrari Edition, where hundreds of illuminated red headphones will color the night. Over the weekend, Lesmo will scent the air with Greek street food and echo with tributes to Vasco Rossi and 883, as well as the Salati and Furious tuning meet. The F1 Shift Racing simulators will ignite challenges among enthusiasts from Friday evening, while Saturday and Sunday the excitement moves to the big screen to follow Monza’s qualifying and race live.
Since August 29, the Scuderie di Villa Borromeo in Arcore have hosted the exhibition Anatomy of a Racing Machine, featuring displays of historic and modern Formula 1 cars, rally cars, engines, gearboxes, noses, wings, steering wheels, mechanical components and original materials drawn from the world of motor racing (on view until Sunday, September 6).
Villasanta also offers a rich calendar of events. In the cultural heart of Villa Camperio, activities begin on September 2 with a free outdoor screening of the film “F1” with Brad Pitt as part of the Cinema in Villa festival; from September 3 to 6 enthusiasts can challenge the times of the champions thanks to the professional simulator from the Monza Circuit at the Pop Up Village, admire the historic cars of the Zero40 team, winners of the 2025 Italian Championship, and participate on Friday, September 4, in the Mams-titled gathering. On Saturday, the automotive passion intensifies with the dynamic demonstration “Anatomy of the Single-Seater,” featuring engine starts and photo sessions with fans. Not far from Monza Park, the Via Sauro festival area will transform into the green, dynamic heart of the event thanks to the Pop Up Village, offering daily activities such as street basketball, picnics, children’s entertainment with bubble shows and dog-training sessions organized by ENPA and the Giulia Pack. Social moments will also unfold at Green Bar with plant-based aperitifs and a Sunday brunch accompanied by DJ sets and lounge music.
