Europe will soon have a new low-cost airline. It is named Fly2Galicia, based at the Rosalía de Castro airport in Santiago de Compostela, in the northwest of Spain, and will officially take off on December 1, with its first route to Zaragoza. From that date until October 24, 2027 (when an initial operating balance is scheduled), the carrier will offer 17 weekly departures across eight destinations, spanning international and domestic connections.
Among the international routes, two Italian destinations stand out: Milan and Venice, joining Brussels, Munich, and Prague. On the Spanish domestic front, the connections will cover Granada, Alicante, and, as mentioned, Zaragoza.
The new Fly2Galicia airline
Operationally, Fly2Galicia will initially operate an Airbus A320, an aircraft with capacity between 150 and 190 passengers, widely used among European low-cost carriers for its efficiency on medium-range routes. It is not out of the question that, ahead of the 2027 summer season, the fleet will be expanded with a second aircraft, signaling that the airline aims to consolidate quickly on the market.

The real strength of Fly2Galicia lies in its prices. One-way tickets will start from as little as 19 euros, but the figures vary by destination: to reach Milan or Brussels launch fares will start at 39 euros, while for Munich, Prague, and Venice the base price will be 49 euros. For those who live or travel often between Italy and Spain, it represents an additional low-cost option to link northern Italy (via Milan) and the Veneto region (via Venice) to Galicia, a region still underserviced by cheap direct flights compared with other parts of Spain.
Another noteworthy aspect concerns baggage: every ticket will include two carry-on bags in the cabin (one personal item plus a carry-on of eight kilograms) at no additional cost. This provision is enabled by the new European regulation on carry-on luggage, which has eliminated airlines’ ability to charge for this service as an optional extra.
A development that, together with the affordable fares, makes Fly2Galicia one of the most anticipated novelties for those already planning their first trips of 2027.
