If you live in Turin or the surrounding area, there’s a new reason to pay close attention to the departures from the Piedmont capital’s airport. Wizz Air inaugurates today its new operational base at Turin Airport, the airline’s seventh base in Italy, with the first Airbus A321neo already in service and a second aircraft arriving from October 25, 2026. A development that brings new routes, more frequencies and above all new possibilities to plan a trip directly from Piedmont, where travelers have often had to turn to neighboring Lombardy.
To celebrate the opening, Wizz Air launched a promotion valid on September 14 and 15, 2026: a 15% discount is applied on selected flights to and from Turin, for trips made between September 21 and December 10, 2026. The Turin network thus reaches 23 routes to 10 countries, with an offering that includes major capitals, Spanish cities, Italian destinations and sunny holiday spots. Among the new routes there are some quite appealing for an autumn weekend, and three, in particular, deserve to be at the top of the list for upcoming trips.
The new Wizz Air routes to Turin
The opening of the base represents a significant investment by Wizz Air in the Piedmont region. The first aircraft based in Turin has been in operation since September 14, while the second will enter service on October 25. The airline expects roughly 1.3 million seats on sale from Turin during 2026 and estimates the creation of 80 new direct jobs and around 700 indirect ones. The main novelty for travelers, as noted, is the expansion of the network. The new routes include Barcelona, Bilbao, Lamezia Terme, Madrid, Malaga, Naples, Rome Fiumicino, Sharm el-Sheikh, Suceava and Valencia. In addition, from January 2027, the winter routes to Wroclaw, Gdańsk, Katowice and Prague will also be added.
The inaugural promotion therefore arrives at the right moment to plan a trip in the coming months. The 15% discount on selected flights is available only on September 14 and 15 and concerns departures between September 21 and December 10, 2026. Terms and availability may vary depending on the chosen flight.
Bilbao, Malaga and Sharm el-Sheikh: 3 new destinations from Turin
Bilbao is the right choice for those seeking a European city less obvious. The new Wizz Air route lets you reach the Basque Country and discover the Guggenheim, the Casco Viejo, and the celebrated pintxos tradition, in a period of the year ideal for visiting the city without the crowds of peak season.
Malaga, on the other hand, brings you to the Costa del Sol, where even in autumn you can count on pleasant temperatures and a still Mediterranean atmosphere. The historic center, the Alcazaba, the Picasso Museum and the seafront make the city suitable for both a cultural weekend and a warm break. The new route from Turin will be operational from October 26.
Sharm el-Sheikh changes the scene completely: the new route, active from October 27, takes you directly to the Red Sea, amid beaches, resorts and reefs particularly valued by snorkelers and divers. One of the most appealing options for those who want to turn an autumn trip into a summer-like escape.
